- Medical translation services is one of our specialties. Customers in the Pharmaceutical, Medical and Healthcare industries have come to rely on our team of experts for even the most complex medical translations.
Some medical documents are updated frequently, several times a year in some cases, especially medical device manuals, IFUs and clinical protocols. In order to provide fast turnaround and cost effective translation of updates, we maintain translation memories for all translated documents, in order to determine exactly what has changed since the last version was published. This is very cost efficient, as it allows us to only translate the new material and the changes.
- We provide Legal translation services delivered on time and at very competitive prices.
Our legal translators are carefully recruited and tested. Only suitably qualified translators, editors and reviewers are working on your projects, ensuring that even very complex legal information is conveyed accurately. All of them have a vast experience with legal document, some even working as lawyers in their country. To ensure that all of your materials are treated in the strictest of confidence, we shall sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) if you require it.
- itlocal will translate all of your Marketing materials, in any format.
This includes translation of marketing brochures, ad copy, catalogs, newsletters, websites, emails and subtitling of video presentations and films. It is very important when translating your marketing communications materials to make sure we are not only translating words into another language. We have the experience and staff necessary to culturally adapt your materials so that they will read well in the target language for your target audience with all the right linguistic nuances.
- We are the perfect team of experts to solve all your Technical translations needs.
We always have available an experienced team of technical and engineering translators who have worked many years in the engineering industry. This includes electrical and electronic engineers, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, scientists, physicists, chemists and chemical engineers, as well as other industry specialists. We have recruited such staff because we understand that a good technical translator must possess an excellent command of both the source and target languages and also an in-depth understanding of the subject matter and its terminology.
The success of a localization project is measured not only by how accurately it matches the source language in functionality and look-and-feel, but also by how natural the written text appears to the target audience.
Our localization teams have the linguistic and programming knowledge necessary to develop a complete localization solution that includes all the languages, services, and level of guidance you need to deploy your product worldwide.
We can work with many different software-specific file formats, including executable programs, resource files, and XML-based files.
Our capabilities include the translation of all product components that contain text, such as resource files, bitmaps, icons, and screen.
As needed, we will resize your dialog boxes and recompile online help files. We will also test your localized software or assist with the validation process.
We submit every project to our strict proofreading, technical review, and final testing procedures to ensure that the localized software retains the look and functionality of the source language product.
Technical review and final testing steps typically include the following::
- Linguistic check: to verify that all double-byte characters and characters with diacritical marks display properly; confirm proper grammar, spelling, and hyphenation; and ensure consistency of terminology.
- Cosmetic test: to check for overlapping commands, truncated strings, dialog box size and layout, duplicate index entries, or hot keys.
Software Localization Tools:
- These CAT tools greatly simplify and accelerate the translation of user interfaces and eliminate the need for programming experience on the part of the translators.

Effective Website Translation Copy and Navigation
Good quality website translation is not just about translating the main text on each web page. It is important to render page titles, descriptions and the ALT text on your site as well. Along with it, comes also the necessity to think through how a customer will be able to use your services and navigate the site.
Do you want to generate telephone enquiries in another language, or do you want people to place standardized orders by e-mail? Can you capture the essential data correctly? There’s nothing more annoying than filling in a web form which rejects your information because it requires a particular style of address or phone number which doesn’t match the required layout. Moreover, right-to-left languages like Arabic, Farsi and Hebrew involve right-to-left navigation, so the outcome needs to be a mirror image of an English version.
itlocal can Wisely render you Website content to the World!
itlocal is an SDL LSP Premier Partner and uses state-of-the-art software localization tools. itlocal is able to deconstruct files to separate text from code. Experienced translators work with text only. Translated text is then submitted to our stringent quality assurance process. Finally, the file is reconstructed to match exactly the format of the original file. itlocal applies technology to the art of translation through the use of various CAT (computer-assisted translation) tools, such as:
Translation Memory Tools
Using this CAT tool, itlocal is able to parse text from complex formats, such as FrameMaker or XML files and store the text as segments in a database. These segments can be sentences, paragraphs, or phrases (headings, titles, or elements in a list) that have previously been translated by human translators. The translations stored in this database are then reused in order to improve consistency of terminology within and across product documentation, accelerate project completion, and reduce the overall cost of translation by never translating the same text twice.
Project Management Tools
These CAT tools offer increased performance in organizing and optimizing the core activities that involve multilingual processes. This includes efficient coordination of translations, systematic translation quality control, client review support, and thorough process auditing and reporting. itlocal uses project management tools to create and manage customized project flow solutions adapted to customer requirements.
Software Localization Tools
These CAT tools greatly simplify and accelerate the translation of user interfaces and eliminate the need for programming experience on the part of the translators. itlocal uses software localization tools to directly handle a large number of software-specific file formats, including executable programs, resource files and XML-based files. Text strings can be translated into numerous languages, including Asian languages (Unicode) and right-to-left scripts like Hebrew and Arabic. Our most powerful software localization tool, SDL Passolo, is fully compatible with the Microsoft .NET framework.
We use SDL Studio to analyze the source file(s) submitted for translation and to identify Matches, Fuzzy matches, and No matches. During the translation process, each of these are carefully reviewed and adjusted to ensure that they accurately reflect the meaning of the source text and to ensure consistency of terminology. New text (No matches) is translated and carefully reviewed to ensure that the translation is accurate and complete, and that terminology is consistent and in accordance with the linguistic and cultural characteristics of the targeted locale(s).
Compatibility with other TMs
SDL technology supports the TMX (Translation Memory eXchange) standard. This is the vendor-neutral standard for the exchange of TM data created by Computer-Aided Translation (CAT) and localization tools. The TMX format facilitates the exchange of translation memory data between tools and/or translation vendors. Please note that the Translation Memories that we build belong to our clients and will be delivered upon request.
The content is always important, but terminology is also a major organizational asset. Efficient management of terminology is a key contributor to the quality and consistency of the final multilingual content your company produces.
The benefits of using a terminology consist of:
- Preventing re-work
- Eliminating additional review cycles and QA steps
- Shortening total localization turnaround time
Whether it’s a Translation Memory or a specialized Glossary, preserving the work already done right can improve the work carried out later on.
We use SDL MultiTerm and the MemoQ packages to analyze the source file(s) submitted for translation and identify Matches, Fuzzy matches and No matches. During the translation process, each of these are carefully reviewed and adjusted to ensure that they accurately reflect the meaning of the source text and terminology consistency, in accordance with the linguistic and cultural characteristics of the targeted language.
SDL technology supports the TMX (Translation Memory eXchange) standard which facilitates the exchange of translation memory data between tools and/or translation vendors.
According to the standards and needs of each client, we make sure that the client receives a complete and useful terminology package from which to benefit later.
Please note that the Translation Memories that we build belong to our clients and will be delivered upon request.
Past work can make a difference on how we build the future projects!
At itlocal we always adhere to a strict quality assurance policy.
itlocal uses a number of quality assurance tools to assist with the verification of documents written in markup languages, such as HTML (HyperText Markup Language) and XML (eXtensible Markup Language). XML validation, for example, consists of checking an XML document to confirm that it is both well-formed and also valid, i.e., it follows a defined structure. A well-formed document follows the basic syntactic rules of XML, which are the same for all XML documents. A valid XML document also respects the rules dictated by a particular DTD or XML schema, such as a DITA map (Darwin Information Typing Architecture), according to the application-specific choices for those particular documents
itlocal uses Quality Assurance tools such as:
- SDL TeamWorks – project management tool;
- SDL Synergy – used for different types of file formats;
- HTML QA – used in website translation projects;
- SDL Passolo – used in software localization projects;
- QA Distiller – used for all projects to check issues like inconsistencies, punctuation errors, omissions, formatting problems, etc.;
- Altova XMLSpy – used in software localization projects, mainly for XML-file based projects.
Translation Quality Assurance software (also TQA or QA tools) is used to compare the source and the target versions of the text. Actually, these are the segments of bilingual texts and we carefully check them in order to detect all possible translation errors, misprints, consistency of terminology, compliance with project glossaries, omissions as well as punctuation, capitalization and number value or formatting errors.
Our well-defined processes are customized to the specific needs of every client and project. Optimal quality, cost containment and on-time delivery are our goals for every project, from translation and localization to terminology management and web design.
For the Final Review, our editors are working in their mother tongue assigned to the project based on their expertise and familiarity with the subject matter. The reviewer performs a ‘side by side review’ of the target and source texts to verify the accuracy of the translation and its adaptability to the targeted locale, consistency of terminology within and across translated documents, agreement with the glossary, and completeness.
Quality Assurance is a key component of any translation management system. Our QA process allows us to deliver excellent translations, while continuously improving the overall quality!
